  • A lot and yet not much

In the last few weeks I have been keeping busy. We have had mostly good weather, more so than the two previous summers I have spent here.  The rain is actually welcome when it comes because everything has dried out so much.

I got a prototype DVD done for the Captains before they left.  Still a lot of work to do, but that deadline got me through a huge portion of it.

My husband is now on summer holidays so he is at home.  Between us we got the storage rooms decluttered, organised and cleaned.  He now has a little room in there with his tool bench and a computer.  This has been good for him as I have had C for 15 hours a week here so he has some place to work.  The room next door is also set up with my craft supplies and will do double duty as a quest room on the rare occasions we have overnight quests.  Having these rooms organised feels like we have added a 1/3 to the house.  Sorting things out, and throwing or giving a lot of things away, I now seem to have ample storage, and lots of space in the house.  I also have a good idea where to find things.  Now we are getting more into decorating projects and making the house more our own.

Also been working in the garden, have put out a whole lot more vege seedlings and repotted a lot of the indoor plants.  M and I also put in a Barbaris (Barberry) hedge along the side.  This task was made more difficult by several concrete fence supports which M removed.  I then got to fill in the holes.  In the photo you can see half of the hedge, it continues on up the side of the house.

We are also taking care of a friend's garden while they are away for the summer.  Due to the rain it has only meant two trips to water in two weeks, but we will have to go up to mow soon, and I hope to put in a few plants for her too.

Lots of other little projects but they are still in plans for the most part.  Will mention them when there is some definite progress.
